What my arm looked like a few hours later - I have never had problems with them before

This millipede did not cause any problems

Only the second amphiban I saw in 6 days in the Amazon (first was a cane toad)

Most interesting. I have read the only thing millipedes can do in self defense is exude a mild acid that is only some what dangerous if you rub your eyes after handling one so the red marking on your arm is a surprise. What a tiny little frog. Probably has a great song.

I like that weevil best but all are good.
Thank you both, it was quite an unpleasant surprise, it was quite painful, I thought that I had been sunburnt at first but when the mark appeared I realized it was the millipede.
