color scheme problem

Hi

I want to know what colour scheme does windows use.

bcoz I see diffrence in colours in my images when viewed in photoshop,and when viewed in the default windows image viewer.

the images viewed in the windows image viewer look dull.
they look the same when I put them on deviantart.

please help.

The simple answer is that many programs assume that the image is in sRGB. If you view an image that is in a larger colour space, like Adobe RGB (1998), as if it was sRGB it will look dull. Therefore convert (don't 'assign') all your images to sRGB in Photoshop before posting on the web.
