I cut a branch off our last cherry tree.
Beautiful patterns, I read that we can deduce the age of the tree from the number of rings the log has.
I was just looking at it as concentric circles, never knew the width of the ring had significance too.Correct, each ring represents a years growth. The width of the ring indicates whether it was a good growth year or not.
I'm thinking turning stock or knife handles.
