Some of you know my obsession with hydro towers, telephone and hydro poles and lines, this is my latest shot of my obsession This is taken with high ISO and low shutter speed around dusk to get an older/grainy feel to speak about the changes in communication.

With a shot like this I think you could go ahead and try tilting the frame so the pole is on a slant. I like the idea of making it abstract.

Thanks Designer, oddly enough I shot it crooked/more abstract and ended up picking this one and straightening it, I may revisit that composition again, I was having a hard time getting the lines "right" that way.

I like it a lot, and have no suggestions for improving it.

I like it because it feels filled with non-verbal ideas. There's some sort of jittery sensation that can easily be tied to something about telecommunications or technology or the hand-of-man or whatever the viewer wants it to me. It doesn't feel like a condemnation or technology, or a paean to it, but it does feel like commentary.

This could anchor a portfolio, I think. Since you're already obsessed with towers, and you seem to have some ideas about technology (these technologies specifically) and their relationship to the world, I think you could work up a portfolio that tries to realize some more of those ideas. You could make a portfolio only of towers, or you could alternate pictures of towers with.. something else. Something relevant.
