Competitive Camera?

Have you guys heard of Competitive Camera?

I've never heard of them before but after spending a little bit of time on google I found them and they just got a shipment of the tamron 150-600 in.

Their website needs a little work in my opinion but I emailed them and the guy emailed me back within 2 hours and said they just got a shipment in and id have it by Friday.


Check it out and if your interested in one in Nikon mount they have them, not sure how many though.

Sorry to hear it. What happened??? I had a bad feeling about them.

They said they had the lens but didn't want to sell it bc it was her husbands and that was his favorite lens.

They decided to sell it bc they needed money to put towards their baby they were having.

After three days went by I asked for the tracking number since the lens didn't show up yet.

She gave me some story how she went into premature labor and she would get it to me as soon as she got out of the hospital.

After a week went by she started ducking my texts and she used an iPhone which shows every time you read a message.

So I simply told her she needed to respond and update me or I was filing a dispute with paypal.

Still nothing.

PayPal said she had 10 days to respond with her side of the story and they will go from there if she responds.

So I've been blowing her phone up since. Texting and calling every 5 minutes to get a response.

If you search her email, another thread pops up on another forum where they scammed someone else.

So I forwarded that information to paypal.

I guess you live and learn.

Just sucks I have to wait up to 2-3 weeks to get my money back.

I couldn't agree more. That's quite a bit of change too.

This is just one reason why prefer to deal locally.

I usually do deal local, however as we all know that tamron is hard to come by right now. Even the big contenders can't get their hands on one.

So I guess since I don't have much patience I set myself up and some would say serves me right.

Have you guys heard of Competitive Camera?

My showroom is just blocks from Competitive Camera and I buy a lot of my gear from them. They know their stuff and from my experience are good people to do business with. CC also tends to have a good selection as well...they tried talking me into a Nikon D4s & 800mm the last time lol

well they nearly sold me a 70-300 except the photo they sent was of an older AF model. Then I saw they were trying to buy gear at the same time that they needed the money. Buyer beware. I've been buying more from adorama, etc than ebay nowadays. It's just easier.
Luckily there's still a ton of good TPFer's.
