Compressing for the Photo Challenge?

How does one get a file down to the size they ask for? They ask that you get it to around 140-150kb. Just in case I think something of mine is ever worth submitting lol. I suppose it would just be useful to know in general too. For those of you that have submitted in the TPF Photo Challenge, what image size did you submit? Also whats a 'safe' dpi to go down to in comparison to image size, etc? I searched a little bit and didnt really find the info I was looking for.

Image size can be reduced down to 800 pixels (on the long side). Resolution should be set to 72 PPI (good for screen viewing). JPEG compression can be set (when you save as) down to 70-80 percent (give or take).

All that should give you nice small file sizes.
