The initial boot up single beep then two beeps

knowing the model motherboard might be helpful.

You might be able to reset the bios with some hardware magic.

its shift f8, but the boot is so fast that it doesnt trigger the bios menu.
and if by some chance it is, i cant see it anyway because all i get is "no signal" from the monitor

I'd still go with contacting the company that put out the update, chances are this isn't the first time this has happened to someone.

On most motherboards two short beeps will indicate a cmos error. What type of motherboard are we working with?

apparently a crappy one.

Lol.. well on the motherboard there will be a jumper that we can use to reset the bios back to factory defaults, which will often fix this issue.

We just need to figure out what type of motherboard this is so we can figure out where the jumper is located, the procedure from there is simple, you close the jumper and turn the computer on, shut the computer off, open the jumper and then power back up again and it resets your BIOS

Is this a name brand system (HP, Compaq, etc) or is it a custom build? Either way usually there is a sticker on the motherboard that will give you a type or part number that hopefully we can find using google, once we get a manual for that board (again via google) we should be able to find where the jumper is located.

You have to keep constantly pressing shift f8, just f8, f12, or f2 while booting your computer. Do you have windows installation disk?
