Computer generated photographic art.

If artwork is generated on the computer can there ever be a tangible original? Or it limited to reproductions? I have a client looking at a local artist work. She photographs landmarks manipulates on her computer to form the end product usually a giclee. Now I have someone wanting an original of one of her pieces. The link below shows some of her work. Your question applies to photography as well. Which one of the many prints you can make from the negative is the original?

Not original implies copied, that to me means quality loss. If someone wants an original of anything the answer is you get the one with the full quality of a first public release.

Original copy of music implies a CD or a copy of that CD rather than an MP3.
Original image from film implies a print from the negative, not a copy of a print.
Original copy of a digital images implies a copy of the master TIFF file, not a downscaled JPEG.

This is my interpretation anyway.
