Consistent Subjects

Anyone have any suggestions of things that are able to be shot consistently when learning photography? Things to change when shooting?

Unless you live in a parrallel universe that has no matter I'd say pretty much anything. I set an empty beer bottle on a ledge in my house and shot it for hours once, moving my flash unit and myself around to experiment with available light coming through a window and the flash unit at various angles.

I'd say just about anything that can be called an "inanimate object".

i used to shoot a lot of cityscape when I started out. Buildings dont move that often. Static subjects are good to start with.

lol - I have quite a few shots of a tequila bottle. I find shooting something with a label helps me quickly ascertain how sharp my shots are coming out.
