Converting XMP file to JPEG

I'm new to photography and I accidentally (not sure how I did it) changed the file extension of a few photos from JPEG to XMP and I do not know how to convert it back to JPEG. I do not have the software that supports XMP. They were really precious photos. Can anyone help?

xmp is a metadata file, not an image.

sounds like you jsut need to change the extension back to jpg.
