Dustin and Jody called me looking for a last minute session with their poock Copper. She is getting pretty old (and she needed lots of breaks) but what a fantastic, friendly pooch! It was raining the entire shoot, but we had a good time. The specifically asked for no "engagement" type shots, they really wanted the focus to be the dog.

C&C appreciated as always.

nice. First session I've seen where the pet was the primary subject. You've got her and her pals together very well. Love #1

Love this! #3's my favourite, that's just awesome work! They'll never forget their dog, Copper, but now they've got lovely photos to look at when the need comes.

Rub.. beautiful! They will cherish all of them, but #2 and #5... hit me really hard! ;)

Cute couple, beautiful dog and beautiful work, can't ask for much more! :) Just like another guy said, they will have amazing pictures to look over. Awesome work as always! :) #5 is my favorite but there is something about #4 that really gets to me, maybe Copper's stance..

Holy cow, those are awesome. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE #2. As a pet owner I would adore you for taking these! Great job!

Great shots of the dog! Pets are tough cookies to get good photos of. I have a hard time getting photos of my own dog, she's a bit camera shy, and will literally get up and move if a camera is so much as taken out. Looks like Copper was cooperative!

Even though she's getting old, #2 really could have fooled me. She looks young and spry!

Kristal great set as usual! #3 I give it a  and a woof!

Some nice shots, but 2 thats one for the recycle bin, what were your settings for that shot it looks like focus is behind the dog

As a client I would love that shot whether in focus or not.

#2 the focus is just a bit back - but we only had two chances with the dog running towards me (as I said, she was pretty old and tired). There are 2 others in the clients gallery, but this one was the winner due to the feeling :) The clients know its not the best choice for a big enlargement, but its right for them.

I think I went from not knowing what in focus even is (geeze I wish I could reshoot my first clients!!!) to making sure everything was perfectly focused to make the cut, and now to a place where I can see the emotion or feeling or movement of an image and not chop it just because although it isnt technically perfect, but it may be perfectly all right. :)

Well done. Yes, #2 may not be the sharpest, but you were very right to keep it, as it is a great moment. Like you, I used to cull everything that wasn't completely 100% sharp, but I've started keeping great moments that aren't technically perfect.
