Copy to CD problems for a MAJOR model agency. Help please!

File copy problem
I've got a technical question, if anyone out there can help me! I saved pics on an external drive- when I open the files- all the pics are a few MB on average- I keep trying to pull them off to burn them on a disc & they drop to a hundred or so KB. Yet my files on the ext. drive remain large. How do I copy them? Anyone have any idea?! They stay the same size if they move from drive to drive but on the CD they drop in size. They start as .jpg and are .jpg on the CD also.

Are you selecting a folder, or opening the folder and selecting and dragging all the images inside the folder?
