You have an excellent subject. With all that texture, it would probably look great under an overcast sky and a b&w conversion.

In the first photo... I think there's too much detail in the background. It looks like you were trying to shoot the big tree in the right as the main subject, but those branches and leaves in the back are competing for the viewer's attention.

For me it was the whole scene specifically the little path going under the tree and into the background. But your right it is very busy
