Unlucky for me it was cloudy so I couldn't get the blue cloudy look with white puffy cloud look. Shot at F16 and that's freezing Potomac River in the background.

C&C per req:

1. From a lighting perspective, not bad at all, but why a landscape orientation?

2. A little contrasty; I think a diffuser or reflector camera left might have helped.

With both of these images though I see too much DoF; try shooting from further back using longer glass and larger apertures for less DoF so as to isolate the subject more.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Thanks. I have a portrait version of that but it's not edited so I just posted that for now.

I wanted the DOF. I was going for this look but it was too cloudy to pull it off. Or else I would have just shot that at F/2.8 or even f4 but then it'd be too bright so I'd have to raise the shutter speed and couldn't use my flash in M mode. I'll have to try this when it gets warmer here with a much nicer weather.

#1: Overall it looks fairly nice. Background is tilted and underexposed though.
#2: Don't care for this one. Badly tilted horizon, background is underexposed again. Don't like how the flash is spotlighting her. Might work if she was under a street lamp, but she's under a tree. Very clear that artificial light was used.

He wanted to do OCF.. I dont think he could have opened up the aperture more.
