Creating a DVD Slideshow...Need Help

I recently shot a wedding for a friend of mine, and I want to create a DVD slideshow for them as a little extra surprise. However it's not something I've ever done before so I need a little help getting started. First of all I want something that is only viewable, and not something where my digital files are now floating around. Secondly I'm not sure which program would be best to use, or what I even can use. The programs I already have at my disposal would be Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, Adobe Premiere Elements 10, and Lightroom 4. I know a lot of people use Powerpoint for things like this, but at the moment I don't want to spend the extra money for the program. So if somebody could tell me which of the programs I have that would work best, or could suggest a free program I could use I would really appreciate it. Links to tutorials are always a plus as well

If you are a Windows user, I have used Microsoft Movie Maker before. Very easy and the results were pretty good. You can add music and other effects.

Use your adobe premiere element 10. You pretty much only have to drop all the photos to the timeline and it will automatically set them as 5 sec interval. You can make them shorter. You can apply transition between photos by just selecting all photos and right click and select apply default transition. The default is fade in and out. You can also drop in music.

The most important thing is to get your setting right when you start the project. Since you are dealing with high res jpeg, you can make the video the highest quality as possible (you have a lot of pixels and the frame/sec is pretty much the same photo over and over). I would definitely do it at 1080 HD. Once you get a hang of it with the program, then you can start moving the images to make it more dynamic. Anyway, here is one I just did. But I added some video and used Premiere Pro instead. I have not done many of these so I am still learning as well.

If you are using Windows, you can try Windows Movie maker; if you are using Mac, you can try iDVD. I'm on mac os x 10.8, the iDVD isn't available, and I am a fully amateur, so I bought a software to use, which is slideshow dvd creator. Of course, there are many other software you can find from Internet, both free and paid.

I tried several programs to make it. For my opininion the best way is Smartshow3d. It combines well funtionality and friendly interface. My first imression was- very chip and simple program. But after I tried it I change my mind.
Now I am using only this one. I can explain you if someone will be hard to understand.

I used Adobe Premiere Elements to create the slide shows for both. The first is all digital capture.

After starting, switch to HD.

The second was from Ektachrome slide film I took years ago and scanned into digital.

No hope of that.

Being on digital media your photos can be copied in several ways, even if you make the DVD read only, not least of which is simply making screen shots as the photos are displayed on their computer screen.
