I noticed a theme in your "best" photos. They all have a similar perspective on the subject. Meaning you set the camera down and actuated the shutter or put it flush with something and actuated the shutter, causing you to see depth of field fall off both in the foreground and background. However, the images lack an interesting subject and are pretty uninteresting otherwise.
4 looks like Jenkem or something. I don't even know.
5. At least has some redeeming aesthetic value since it's off centered and has good lines, however suffers from underexposure and lack of sharpness.
6. That window has a hole in it.
What would you recommend doing in photoshop to make balance those things out? The underexposure can probably be fixed with contrast and the sharpness can be improved with levels I would think.
You fix the underexposure by brightening the picture.
1 and 2 have no subject. 4, 5, 6 look like snapshots. Nothing interesting. 3 is the best of the bunch in my opinion.
Most of the paint is out of focus. Which makes it less obvious.

I agree. It needs to be sharper while the background needs to be more out of focus. The leaf being only slightly out of focus is competing with your subject, which just isn't all that interesting to begin with.

How would I change the focus to be just the sign and everything else be blurry?
I have a Panasonic ZS5 Camera
