cropping/printing help

3:2 would use more of the sensor than 16:9 (16:9=1.77:1), 16:9 would crop a little off of the top & bottom.

So, I should be using the 3:2 on my camera instead of the 16:9 because it's going to give me a wider view and better for cropping? When I did the interactive part on the link, it was clear that the 16:9 took a lot off the top and bottom compared to the 3:2. What this is telling me is I need to change my camera settings to the 3:2 for a bigger picture to start out with in processing before cropping to the size I need. Correct?
That's what I would do (change it to 3:2), unless you want them to be 16:9 for some reason.

You can crop them to 16:9 (or anything else) later if you want to.

If you view your pictures on the TV, 16:9 will look better if you have a widescreen TV...Other than that, I don't really see the purpose of the setting. I would keep it on 3:2.

...But - It's your camera, if you disagree, do what you want.

No, I don't view the pictures on a tv or anything. Just my monitor and I'd just like to be able to send some off to be printed for the family and baby books etc. I just didn't know what the setting were for and that's what the camera was on when I bought it, so I left it there. Thanks so much for that part of maybe fixing one of the problems. :D

3:2 will give you more to work with in PP, and more cropping options.

I have figured this all out to get the right print size. Now, another question has came up that I'm confused about.

I found out that my commercial printer only accepts the picture as a sRGB file.

How do I save my prints after they are prepared for print so that it will be in sRGB format? It doesn't let me save it in the Save or Save As with sRGB...only the Adobe RGB. The only way I can figure to save it is the "Save to the Web" option as a sRGB.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
