Cropping Question

I have a habit of asking stupid questions, but here's another anyhow..

What is an easy way to crop in PS while keeping the dimensions frame-able.

What I mean by that is... so the photo will still fit a 4x6, 8x10... or other picture frame dimension.

select the entire frame with the cropping tool and drag the corners while pressing shift...

Use the CROP tool. Set the dimensions, remove the ppi number (unless you want it to resample) and then draw your box.

You can get custom frame sizes too, if you want to crop to a custom size.

Okay new newbie question on this. Why are my images coming out as 8 x 12 default? I am shooting in RAW. Is this a camera setting?

3:2 is the general camera ratio. 3:2 = 6x4 = 12x8.

gotcha, so 8x10's are always cropped in the editing room. how much trim should be left on average? I think Trim is the term, the part that will be covered by the frame..
