Hiya guys,

Im aware of the problem when trying to get a battery grip for my D3000. As in the camera was bot designed to work with one.

However why wont it work, and why do people sell them for them??
I could do with one but im a little confused about it all

Cheers Guys

Nikon doesn't officially support battery grips on the "baby Nikon's", meaning they won't have any hard wired integration with the camera (no command dial(s), no button control(s) other than the shutter release which for the D40/D60 was infrared, I believe the newer ones from the D5000 on have a cable that comes out to interact with the cameras GPS/accessory port, which is more reliable but adds a cable to the mix.

Yes, as ive read that the vertical shutter doesnt always work with the D3000 ?

thats what i was trying to get at. LOL.
Thanks
Has anybody had any use with a battery grip and D3000
If so what are your thoughts and could you recommend one.

Thanks Guys

I got a grip from linkdelight for my d5000. It came with two extra batteries and a wireless shutter release for $60.

The 2" long cable that hooks up to support the vertical shutter releaseis on the left side of the camera and is completely out of the way. Not a bad investment for me and the camera fits great in my hand now!
