Hi, I was looking into Nikons D-series ofc ameras and I know that with the D40 and the D60, you have to have an autofocuz motor built into the lens for the camera to autofocus, (AF-S) but does the D-80 have to have lenses with such autofocus motors in them? Or can the D-80 have regular lenses without them and still autofocus? I know it has to say AF-S for the D40 and 60, but what letters can the D80 focus with?

Thanks in advance.
Mark

The D80 has it's own motor, just like most Nikon SLR cameras.

D80 is a great camera if you can find one used for about 400 bucks or so. Excellent camera.

Yes, I now, but what type of lenses should I look for so the camera can autofocus? Will it autofocus with all types?

Unless the lens is MF - it will focus automatically. This assumes the D80 CAN use the lens, as there are some (WAY OLD) lenses that will not work on the D80. Generally though, the majority of lenses you are going to find out there (used or otherwise) will autofocus and meter on your D80.
