d90 max aperture

Hello,
I must be missing something. I was reading a review on a site about the D90 and it gives a spec on the Nikon D90 of Max Aperture 3.5.

What is that all about ? Is that true ? Here I am worrying about getting a lense with very fast glass, but the camera body itself somehow limits this ?

I must be missing something ( quite possible ), or that site is off it's rocker. Can someone set me straight ? Why would anyone want to buy a camera with such a limitation ?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but max aperture is determined solely by the lens...

your correct. with the 105-18 that comes with the d90, the max is 3.5. updrade the lens and you can increase the aperture if you want. the camera has nothing to do with it

ah thanks. Must be getting late. Of course they were siting the specs WITH the kit lens. :blushing:
