dangerous sky

I'm amazed at the clarity of the shots, especially the second one.
I know I'm used to the LA smog but were you using any kind of filter or was this unusual conditions?

No filter, just bare-naked lens. Normal air around here in the winter. It gets sorta gunked up with dust come spring & summer when the farmer get at it though.
