Hey guys. This was my second day with my new camera. I would appreciate any kind of CC that you all can offer. Thanks so much.

Your cameras Auto exposure is not bad.

Looks like you are snap-shooting ... so keep on going, and you will develop (no pun there) your own style.

get closer to the subject in photo #1. also, the best time to shoot is during the golden hour.

Thank you. The sun was definitely an issue with shooting today so I'll give it a shot shooting later tomorrow. Also, to dxqcanada: thank you. I'm still trying to find out what I like taking pictures of the most, so I'll definitely keep practicing. :)

Question to you...what did you learn after day 1 that you applied in day 2?

To bigtwinky: Nothing really? I didn't get much CC for the first set of photos I posted. One of the pictures was blurry, which I knew when I posted. In the photo from Day 1 of my dog, I was told to make sure the sharp focus was on the eyes, which is what I tried to do with the squirrel but whether or not I succeeded, I'm not too sure.

I'm still learning the settings and learning how I like to take pictures. That's why I asked for CC, so I can improve and hopefully apply it to tomorrow's pictures.

On something like #1, remember to pay attention to, and anylize your background. Bright stuff tends to lead you away from a darker subject. The berries and branches hav some interest lines and shape that could be brought out. Move around and see if you can frame it without the fence in the hot, or see if you can maximize use of the fence in the foreground to become a secondary element to the image.

From #2 I would suggest that you remember that you can turn your camera sideways. I think you were attracted to the Jeweler sign, and that blue certainly does pop, but the image may be more successful if you included the sidewalk, maybe people, maybe some of the road, to create interesting lines. Position yourself to try to get the sign a little more prominent as your subject, and some separation from the lamppost, and possibly the burgundy awning.

Try to remember to not shoot from a standing position all the time, everybody has that perspective of the world.

Good luck with day 3!

Dont rely on people on a forum for your learning.

Read, check online... pick up a book called Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson...awesome read for someone who is new

Bitter Jeweler: Good advice! Thank you so much!

Twinky: I will look into picking that book up. Thank you for the suggestion. :)
