I love this picture but I am sure there is more I could do with it. I am learning, reading and taking pictures like mad.

cute shot! maybe just a tad more light for the faces... but really nice.

Altho this is a very nice shot of attractive subjects, I would try the following

Crop to 5w x 4h to remove the extra spacea t the right.
Separate the two faces onto separate layers and
....brighten the adults face
....2 adda little more saturation to the childe - this will even them out

If you are planning on making edits, I might also darken the blue hair thing a little.

IMO, the most important part of post-processing to 'finalize' the picture is identifying what specifically is wrong with the image. This picture is an excellent example of how a few insignificant changes can make a picture even better.

It's a really nice shot. I like the edited version
