Decent Camera for a Begginner

But seriously, it can be a little jarring when you are used to the default font. I don't mind font choice. I thank god you didn't post in p!nk. :lmao:

Lol, damn, should have used the pink, favourite colour. Lol.

Is there actually many female members on this forum. Lol, I'm a member on Pharmacy UK Forum and you can difference, more politer on there!

There are no women on the internet. They are all 40 year old men.

Did someone mention photography?

p!nK (and proud of it)

Hi, I'm new to the forum and want to start photography, I think I take a few good photos just from my camera phone that is 5MP.

I have seen the GE X5 Digital SLR 14MP Camera with 15X zoom for £97. I just wanted someone to tell me that it is a good purchase if anyone has any reviews or experiences etc.

Thank you

Is difficult to find it in traditional and more or less reliable camera reviews sites (e.g., http://www.dpreview.com , Digital Cameras, Digital Camera Reviews - The Imaging Resource! , Digital cameras, digital camera reviews and best price search ), as GE is not really a brand well known for cameras.
I found one in another place I never visited: GE X5 Review | Compact camera reviews | tests and specs | What Digital Camera but is not much in favour of it.

Try to look at more obvious brands like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Fuji and others - and browse the above sites to understand something more about what you are going to buy (Imaging Resource has also a camera comparison tool, Cameras has a camera selector tool). Then come back with some candidate and let's discuss. Without knowing much of the compact cameras market now, in the same price area I would go for a Canon SX120is as I have the previous model and is not bad.

Regarding politeness of forums, a forum is a community with some often untold rules. Typically, you enter in a new forum like you are going in a foreign tribe with an ethnographic approach: what you feel unpolite could be polite from others points of view and vice versa, and typically you first observe then try to adapt. Perhaps if I come in your pharmacy forum I'll notice some for me unpolite or boring detail you do not perceive, being inside.
When you will be posting pictures for comments, remember to put it on the post and not only as a link to another place (another untold rule ;)).
Said that, I personally never had problems with different fonts, however. This part is just for you so it is pinky.

My rule of thumb is buying a cheaper DSLR such as a used Canon EOS or Nikon D series and start saving money for lenses. I would definitely recommend buying a DSLR camera just for the sake that most of the time it will go further with you on your learning curve. Most of the time the camera has the capabilities to shoot a better picture than you do, unless you know how to set your camera up. So, spend some money on photography books, buy a nice, not super expensive DSLR, and start saving your money for lenses. ;)

id go with a nikon D40x or D3100 package. something that comes with a vr lens, a card, a bag and start with that.
