I'm not sure of the strength of the outdoor light in the second photo, but it seems like a good candidate for some HDR work.

Thanks for the input, guys! Definitely interested in trying out some HDR photography. I have actually tried it out before on this camera, but with limited success due to shaky shots. Any advice for dealing with this besides carrying a tripod wherever I go?
