Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Now, I'm going to post a real image and my edit. These brides were.... confident. Extremely confident and I kind of wanted to help that in my edits. Did I go to far?

EDIT:

IMHO not at all i think the picture looks better overall in the edit , and i think anyone woman would appercaite this edit no matter how cofident they are anyhow im just a nobody but i truely like the more "dream" like quality the edit shows as it was a wedding every womans dream right :)

ty for the reply. I didn't think so either, but my husband was on the fence about it.

I do not think these edits are bad (although I think I can still see the rear window on the red truck). The editing on the face looks good and not overdone along with the brighter exposure I think helps.
Those posted of the younger bride the other day showed noticeable editing.
I'm really curious on how the others indoors turned out.

I'm still working on them. THey're not good, lol. They're noisy, the heads are blown cause of the florescent lights and low ceilings. It's just not pretty. It will take a long time to edit. I'll post some though, I promise.

I'll also edit out that truck window, lol. I'm also still trying to fix the cloning on the younger bride.

The edited version is a major improvement over the original photo.

Hey Derrel. Was the SOOC bad? Just curious. I always expect WAY too much from my SOOC. So someone else's opinion would be nice.

World of improvement in your edit! If I were her, I'd be extremely happy to see what you've done with the shot. :)

I don't plan on her ever seeing the original. I'd like for her to get the photo and actually think that I didn't slim her down, get rid of age spots or downplay the trach scar and 2nd neck, or give her wrists.

No, I think that type of SOOC camera JPEG is about right, about normal; it looks a little bit flat SOOC, but it adjusted well. Many shooters do not want a SOOC camera JPEG file that pushes the whites "up" too much...if the in-camera Tone Curve is set to too high of a contrast setting, one risks blown whites in many situations. Also, the SOOC hd the vehicles in the background, and those were major distractions, and the edit has those removed. Also, in the edit, her skin tones just look "better"; in the SOOC file, her skin tones looked dark and less appealing than in the edit.

Ehh, I mean she's obviously going to know that you did a fair share of editing on these pictures. However, I think you've got a good approach to it-- at the studio we only give out the edited shots. (Of course, the variation and levels of editing especially in the face differ from wedding to wedding..) Good luck, I'm sure she'll love them!

Thanks Rausch! I hope so. I knew what you meant, I think. I just meant I didn't plan on showing her the original so that she could see to what extent she was edited. :)

Ehhh, personally, I would smooth the skin a bit but to a realistic degree. I would NOT reshape someones face unless it was like an advertising shoot or something.

I shot RAW. I'm not sure if that's what you mean? Maybe you just mean it's converted from SOOC to JPEG w/o edits. lol It doesn't really matter I guess. Her dress did have blown parts, but few and I think they recovered pretty well. Yes, the vehicles were in almost every shot, as well as other people. It was raining and the brides were wanting to rush to the reception. (They didn't want to do pics on a separate day for whatever reason, I explained to them that it probably would not be the best pics if we were trying to rush.) She has really hard skin to edit. (I think it might be because she smokes a lot?) There are several different colors in the same photos (in her skin).

Thank you for the reply.

Her skin was smoothed. I'm not sure if you were saying it wasn't a realistic degree or that I needed to smooth it more.

Her face wasn't reshaped, I just slimmed her neck droop. I think she's 60+ years old, so I was just trying to give her wedding pictures she'd want.

This too is the reason I was asking if I went too far. :)

Thanks for your reply.
