Did I do too much?

To me, SOOC means Straight Out Of Camera, which means a JPEG file. It means that the camera did the editing, and the file is straight out of the camera. What you showed us was not a SOOC file as I think of it, but instead an unedited RAW file, or a "default raw conversion" or something like that. I think the background cloning, the arms skin smoothing and age spot removal, and the overall fleshtone lightening and the proper curves setting--ALL that looks just about perfect in the edited shot. Really GOOD! Of course, keep the unedited RAW files out of her view and show only finished shots...

Yeah you did the neck which frankly is part of her face here, and you did her arms. I just meant overall I would not reshape her, period. The smoothing looks good. Some times confidence is a front for depression and pain. I am not sure essentially being shown that you need digital liposuction to look nice would boost confidence. Lighting and blur is more subtle I think and makes someone look more pleasing but still look realistically like themselves. Thats just my opinion though. The edit looks good aside from that, just from a technical standpoint.

Oh wow! At first glance I never noticed all the editing, I thought you just lightened her up a bit. You made her look really great! Like someone else said, there is the part of the red truck still there and on her camera right shoulder there is still some black from the metal object in the original. Gee, I should send you a picture of me and see how good you can make me look!

ty link. I'm kind of hoping that's the way she see's it. She doesn't notice the editing and just thinks she looks great. :)

I don't plan on her ever seeing the original. I'd like for her to get the photo and actually think that I didn't slim her down, get rid of age spots or downplay the trach scar and 2nd neck, or give her wrists.

I like the edit alot and I do think she would be thankful! pro's do it for customers...anything to make someone feel more beautiful and special.
I didnt even see her trach scar and I've got one...I usually notice them LOL, mine is wicked...maybe I could photoshop it off...

This sounds mean, but it was covered by saggy skin. So it looked like... a belly button or something.

I really like the soft and warmer tones in the edited. I also like how unless you saw the SOOC you wouldn't have realized there were vehicles in the background. The alterations you did to the background from the looks of it is flawless. Overall well done.

what program and methods did you use to smooth the skin at remove the vehicles?

You cut at least 10 years off. She'll be pleased.

I just used clone to get rid of the cars and stuff (CS3) and I used an action called simple smoothing for her skin.

I think you did good, however I am wondering how much time you are spending on these? Is the time/money worth it? I know for my wedding I shot like over 800 photos and it seems like these two you've been on for a few days now.
Did you promise them a certain number? I'm still working on my first wedding almost a month later and Ive got a bit over 300 pictures. It is a TON of work, right?

Looking at the arms alone the bride should be pleased with the edit. They look very masculine and hairy without the work. Not too much work to me, good job.

These are going to be the ones that take the least amount of time. I haven't posted any of the other ones I've edited. I am going to have to try to salvage the inside (ceremony) photographs. Those will be the ones that take forever. Editing this pic probably took about 30-45 minutes.

I don't plan on doing any more weddings for a long time until I get some more equipment at the very least!

I did not promise them any certain number.

It is a ton of work. That I def don't deny.
