I know the focus is off, but I'm getting a flood of comments telling me what a great shot this is.

The first one does have appeal because it shows an intensity from the player, it seems composed pretty well, and the soft focus gives it a feel of motion for me. I like it pretty well. Even the low lighting seems to fit with everything else. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The second one doesn't have any particular appeal for me.

1/250th and I was on AI Servo focus mode

i love #1, but i think if it was a tad sharper it would make the pic that much stronger.

not really feeling #2 but thats jsut me

Number one rule for making a good sports shot? Make sure you get the eyes! You did that, and that goes a long way to making these good. (especially number 1)

Work on the focus and it's dynamite.
