Just some recent Ospreys, some samples for the "student" :)... The numbers seem to be down quite a bit this year so far. I hope the mean ol owls enjoyed feasting on the baby Osprey.. Anyways thanks for looking and comments welcome..

Amazing! Especially #5.

4, 6 & 7 do it for me. All great.

How'd you get so close on #1?

I LOVE the open-mouthed fish in #4--outstanding angle on the bird and the fish!

Love looking at your osprey shots. I agree with Derrel #4 is fantastic.

Excellent!!!

You win! ;)

You'll have to come north sometime and check out my lake.

You are too much Man!

I am fascinated by all the ones shot with the 500f4 with green backgrounds. Oh, and what's up with the 100-400 version II? The few people I know with it are seriously loving it.

It actually involves a rescue story. I connected several people that got this young Osprey re-nested. I went out a few weeks later with 2 of the guys to check on "drifter" I was actually on a ladder on the nest and only had my 150 macro lens so I tried to make the most of it. The story is here.. Hard for me to leave CT with all these guys around...

I was actually near a nest to see if the babies had fledged. This adult must have thought I was going to steal his fish as he actually dove into the nest to get it. The 100-400 II seems like a pretty nice lens. A little fine tune may have helped. It seems to focus pretty well and be pretty sharp..
