The pixel size issue isn't about heat. It's about signal-to-noise ratio.

Your camera not only has a smaller image sensor than the Nkon has, it has 5 million more, smaller pixels. That means each of your pixels captures less signal than the larger Nikon pixel. So your pixel has less signal for essentially the same amount of noise.

I must be doing something wrong then. I made some exposures last week, using a shutter speed 60 times longer, 6 seconds. They weren't blurry. :scratch:
 
i think he's taking working on the assumption account that he was doing it hand held, while im assuming that you used a tripod and remote trigger? lol
