Different types of photo paper

I am in the process of ordering prints, and am going back and forth between getting a few on metallic paper. They are Spring portraits of my daughter, so I know the bright colors will work well. I'm just wondering about skin tone.

Have you ordered portraits on metallic paper before? If so, did you like the effect? Or is it better reserved for non-people images?

Metallic prints can look great with skin tones. I don't order enough of them to give a good explanation of the differences, for me, it's something you just have to see for yourself. If I'm not sure, I'll order two or three types of paper and then see which I like best.
