Difficult decision opinions needed

Hello,

I am new in a forum and I would like your advice. I am deciding to buy new camera. Now I dont know what would be better to buy DSLR camera or compact camera. My situation is next, I am using camera for different things (traveling, macro photos, some family photo and nature photography). I do about few thousand photos in a year. Now I need to buy new camera and I am deciding between Sony cybershot HX9V or some simmilar cameras and Canon eos 1100D or maybe even Sony SLT A35. At the moment I have Olympus C770 which is now quite old. I have no special knowledge about DSLR cameras I newer use it one (I only tried some of these cameras in a store). I am planing to spend 300€ if I decide for compact or 600€ if I decide for DSLR.


So any advice, what you would do?

Buy a Nikon D1x (from a camera dealer) and a Nikon 18-whatever kit lens.

Buy a Nikon D1x (from a camera dealer) and a Nikon 18-whatever kit lens.

You can hire the camera out as a hammer when you are not using it to create images. It's one tough mother of a camera.
