I'm alwalys challenged with shooting my daughter's dance competitions. The lighting is never very good and (of course) they do not allow any flash photography, which makes it very hard to stop the action. I catch very few sharp pictures. Any advice on a certain lens that I could use? I am currently using a Canon 100-300 and a Canon 85 1.8. Thanks

the larger an aperture you can use, the better. So go for a high ISO, set your aperture as wide as it goes, and adjust your shutter speed until you get the right exposure. Dial the ISO up farther if you need it faster still. Yeah, you'll run into noise problems, but you can correct that later and it's an easy way to get a little quicker shutter speed without investing in high-speed glass.
