It's a rainy Sunday morning so I've been digging through year-old unprocessed photos looking for anything I missed that might be worth a second look.

You can fix this by cropping it a bit tighter with less grass in the frame. Than get it printed big and framed. Looks nice.

There's lots of detail there, I think with some careful application of the dodge/burn tools you could really enhance it (that was my thought when first seeing the image, but as you hadn't asked for critique, I kept my trap shut).

The images are ok to edit. I'd love to see your approach if you have time, I'm intrigued.

Glad you think it's nice -- you too Christian. I completely agree; no award winner, but I'm happy I went back and found it. I'll see if I can't squeeze a little more out of that sky later. Now it's the end of the day and it's still raining.

Tirediron, a note to clarify: I post photos to share (social animal). I've been hanging around here now for a year+ -- my longest-term internet relationship to date -- both interesting and instructive. It's been my job for over 30 years to C&C other people's photos. Ultimately I have to assign letter grades; A, B, C, D, F. This semester grades are due by 5:00 pm on December 19th. I hate it and I agonize over it and 30 years later it's no easier than it was on the first day. When I C&C a class full of students four weeks from now it's going to count. My TPF experience as I've watched forum members C&C each other's photos has been very fascinating -- I could write pages. Anyway, since my day job is pretty C&C heavy, I've avoided posting any photos here and including C&C in the heading. I'll likely continue that practice, but I'm happy to hear what others think and I made a point of setting my flag to "OK to edit" as a way of inviting comment at any level.
