#1 could of used a slower shutter speed a little to dull - I think I know that you were trying to go for a similar look but it takes away from the true potential of what this picture could have been I would of recommended to take the picture then edit it, in my opinion because how it is now the background has a gray overtone.:meh: keep trying for this look

#2 much better liking the DOF. You brought out the vibrance of the the flower. I like and dislike the dead flowers surrounding it gives meaning to the blooming one but also draws the eye away from your main subject. I was also drawn to the pollen stained on the petal. But overall pretty good foto.:thumbup:
