i have a D40x with two kit lenes 18-55 55-200 while putting on a cir polorizing filter i noticed smuges tried to get them off wirh micro fibre cloth and lens cleaning fluid but it wont get clean also noticed same on uv filter HELP

Try a lens pen.

If that doesn't work, usually some lens cleaner solution and a q-tip will work, followed by using the lens pen again.

A lens pen is definitely the way to go.

thanks guys i got a micro fiber cloth from the guys at labelle camera on long island and it did the trick with a little breath and a light rub good as new

how come it didn't work first time round?

microfibre cloths are the best thing around in my opinion

My lenspen is my least used piece of equipment (never!!) .... I always use a microfibre cloth ...

i can see why worked great at first i had a cheap cloth (for eye glasses) when i got the right one worked perfect
