See, by putting your white reflector card, you are adding a direct flash pretty much. You are supposed to bounce behind you (wall or ceiling). It needs to be pointing backward most of the time.

jwbryson, theoretically... if you were in a pitch black room, you shoot with a flash and 10 second shutterspeed, you wont get any motion blur even if the subject is running. In this case, you are mixing flash and ambient, the flash will freeze the movement to a certain point especially if the subject doesnt move that much.

Yeah, the ceilings were really too high to bounce the light (I tried) and the room was FILLED with about a zillion little girls getting their hair done, moms and dads with cameras, and DW staff, so taking photos was hard, and getting good flash without blocking somebody or blinding somebody was hard too. I agree with your comments and appreciate the feedback. I had not considered the S/S to be too fast until I read your posts.

If I ever go to the disneyworld with my kids... it wont really be a vacation LOL. I need another vacation just for my self after that.

Do you think a dome diffuser will help? It's small and can always mount on the flash.
