Right now I have a Canon Rebel XT and I'm looking to upgrade. I'm used to using a 7D at work and I love it, but that's a little out of my part-time pay budget, so I'm considering buying a T3i to use both personally and as a back up for video with the 7D. What I'm trying to decide is whether I should buy the T3i kit that comes with a 18-55mm IS for $756.99 or just the body for $672.99. I already have an old 18-55mm kit lens without IS, as well as a 55-250mm and a 50mm f/1.8. Would it be worth it to buy the kit?

Personally I don't see much benefit in having IS in such a short lens.
The IS will add a bit of weight too.

If the existing lens is in good shape I wouldn't buy a new one.

It is in good shape, and I rarely use it because of how short it is and because of the low quality of it, but I figured I might use it more if the quality was better. I guess not, thanks!
