Ive had my scanner for about a year and a half I guess...maybe longer, not sure really.
Its a Canon but not too flash. Its always worked well but I havent over used it I dont think.

However lately, the pics are coming out really grainy and Im wondering if Ive got it set on something or if they just slowly die and dont produce as clear quality scans....

ANy thoughts?

The lamps in scanners are usually rated to so many thousand hours (check the manual). It's possible this could be the problem, but I really have no idea. A better place to ask the question would be comp.periphs.scanners on Usenet.

My old scanner totally died. It started making this big yellow streak across everything. Yours doesn't sound too old and I wouldnt think it would die that soon, but who knows... did you check all the setting, resolution etc to try and get better and it just doesn't?
