Thanks, I painted over my portrait by photo-shopping it.
I just clicked over my picture and picked colors over it and placed it in order in different places.

Effective. Just the right size. Avatars are curious in that they could represent "who you are". They are also a test of design skills. Making a cool 100 x 100k image is a lot harder than making a poster. Mainly because you have so little to work with.

As you can tell I do not care about mine. One day I will get it the right size.
