Does anyone do personal portfolios anymore?

I started a portfolio of my pictures I took about this time last year. I went through a rough patch where I didnt really have the money to keep it up to date. I'm just wondering if anyone still does the physical portfolios anymore or if they are all online for viewing?

Combination of both...
some clients prefer to look at printed material and others on the monitor. We definitely have different prints (size/shapes/types/styles/medium) around the studio hanging on the walls, on the shelves, etc.

Ok. I don't have a studio yet but that's good to know when I do. I just havn't really kept it up to date and i'm about to print some new prints but before I did I wanted to make sure that was still what was suggested before I spent the money. Thanks for the imput!

I do have some with different paper that is used by the lab I use. That way they can see first hand the difference.

I guess it depends who your clients are. I know wedding photographers and senior portrait photographers that use an iPad for a portfolio when meeting clients in person and I know commercial photographers that have books made so they can show their work to AD's and potential clients.

There are different types of photography, so it kind of de[pends on what you are shooting.

Retail photographers can use a studio and web site to display their portfolio. If a retail photographer doesn't have a studio they may want to have a portfolio book, but samples of the various products they offer is better than having a book.

Commercial photographers may need to maintain 4 or 5 portfolio books they can leave with/send to prospective clients as well as having a web site and images on display in their studio.
