Does it "work" ??

I posted this one in the HUGE share from this family's session, but didn't get any feedback on this one specifically (to be expected since I posted like 15 photos I think lol) so I was just wondering if it "works" in your opinion? I snatched a little branch of leaves and a couple flowers and held in hand for this.

I typically like some foreground blur, when shots are taken through a bush/tree, but this is pushing it for me. Looks more like it done in post to try to mimic as opposed to actually shooting it.

it's a lovely shot of the couple though.

Hmmm idk. I am a fan of framing and oof foreground but the pink color is very distracting. Have you tried b/w? Great photo of the two

NOT a fan; perhaps if it had been some colour other than a rather violet pink

I haven't! I will give that a go though for sure, possibly exactly what it needs.

I'd say "maybe". For me, the biggest issue is that "hole in the background" 100 feet behind them...that light-colored circular area just draws my eye right past them, over and over. Starting at the bottom of the frame is white/shadow/white/line/white/telephone pole...it's just a direct, uninterrupted line of sight from the ground, to the plant, to the background. If that were cloned out, I think the peek-a-boo effect would work MUCH better.

In the small photo posted above, I don't think it works. But when I clicked over to flickr and saw the bigger version it was better and I would give it a maybe as an 8x10. I think what I feel is that there is so much bright stuff vying for my attention (in the small picture).

For couples who are wanting something a bit out of the ordinary, but not too far gone, I think it works.

I gave them edited image files, so we shall see if it makes it to print or not. Lol

I don't like that pink from the foreground object overlaps your subject. Overall it doesn't really work for me since the subjects do not stand out.

Great exposure and shot, but I don't like the pink blur. A smiple vignette would have worked the same and been more flattering.

The giant pink splotches are WAY to distracting.

I think the background is way over-exposed. The couple should be the brightest part of the photo. I would crop it down and add some vignetting and convert to B&W (see attached).

Also, when posing try not to cross arms...and it's even better if you don't have both of them looking at the camera.
