thank you it does suck lesson learned no more stashing camera gear in the outside pockets of my msg. bag. I will be using my back pack gear bag for now on much safer.

How are umbrellas for shooting cars?

I may be shooting the Concours d'elegance!! :mrgreen:

**For smaller, intricate details...not for the full car.

**For smaller, intricate details...not for the full car.

Shiny objects are difficult to shoot... because of reflections. If you shoot the whole car with a small modifier, you will see the modifier in the reflection (unless you are very careful with angles of reflections.... some cars are impossible, lol!) That is why for whole cars... you basically need a giant lightbox... oversized scrims.

If you are just shooting details... an umbrella could do well, if you are careful... again to avoid getting the reflection in your shot.

a Polaroid pl144-az. can't even say if it was a good one or not as I was not yet good at using it lots of harsh light was just starting to bounce it off walls and know about where the light would hit.
