Dove In Flight

How on earth did you get so close to it? I've been able to stalk wild parakeets, but these fly away from a mile out. Just about everything is perfect in this picture David. :)

I sat on a lawn chair after I put some Sunflower Seeds down close by and waited. Its a matter of time before the come for the feed, they just can't resist that Black Oil Sunflower seeds.

David...I have been stalking a couple of mourning doves for over a week now and I still failed. Thanks for the tip about the sunflower oiled seeds. I'd go to Lowes tomorrow to get some...I wonder if they will eat wild bird seeds? That is what I have plentiful of in my garage...

Anyway.......I will not say your shot is good and perfect, because they are and you know it....Love it very much!

Thanks you IzzieK for the kind words.

I read an article on the net somewhere that said Black Oil sunflower seeds will attract more variety of birds then any other seed mix and the shell is soft enough that small birds can easily open the shells. I am starting to think this is true because its been 2 weeks of use and now I have Red Winged Black Bird showing Up the past couple of days,I Seen a couple of male house Finch and the cardinals are daily visitors now through out the day.The Blue jays are showing more often now to. I also now have a abundance of grackles,European Starlings,Juveniles and adults, pigeons,Doves and the squirrels. I also hang one of those little cage basket that holds the suet.I got the Red Bellied Woodpeckers that come for the suet but the crackles eat that to. I buy the No melt peanut butter Flavor suet and its pretty much gone the same day but the suet is cheap.
