i use LimeWire

Does it cost?

There is a free version, but think it has popup ads and is slower that pay version. The pay version is one time cost and includes software upgrades for 6 month or maybe a year. And is a peer-to-peer program. I got the upgraded version pay about 25-35 dollars. Yes I paid for software so I not have to pay for things

May try winmx again, I been looking for Nic Efex #2

A Day in the Life

I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn’t notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They’d seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords.
I saw a film today oh boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book.
I’d love to turn you on
Woke up, got out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke,
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
I heard the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Not they know how many holes it takes
To fill the Albert Hall.
I’d love to turn you on.

On Sgt Pepper's

Personally I like Zappa, Devo, B-52.s and Talking Heads in the car but it gets a little crowded.
Try ' Why Does It Hurt When I Pee' or 'In France' by Zappa

Thanks! I'll download it tonight! :)

Now everyone, give me some good ideas for roadtrippin music! :)

onono use winmx www.winmx.com this is totally free, and has no spyware! Enjoy.

Thanks for the link to that. I just downloaded it and it is soooooo much better than any of the other programs I've tried before!!!

I'm a paranoid or a wuss but are you guys not afraid of getting sued for illegal shenanigans? I do download but from itunes because of the FEAR of big bro and his evil internet warlords coming to take away what little I do have and what I don't owe in student loans.

Well, my plan is only to d/l enough for my roadtrip..that's why I asked for a place that was free and SAFE, though. I don't want to get in trouble for anything.

For a roadtrip, CL? Can't go wrong with B-52's Cosmic Thing.
Personally I'd choose Mahler but I'm probably alone in that. Wouldn't be the first time....

I find winmx slow. I use dc ++ and in my opinion it is the best. Fast and simple to use. :)

Well, I rarely buy CD's, because other than the radio, I don't listen to a ton of music anymore. And I'm not gonna buy an entire CD when it only has one song that I want. I think I have a total of 30 CDs (and I still have every CD I've ever owned) and about 75% of them were either won or given to me as gifts.

I use Emule... never had problems with it. it's free and quite fast in my connection

Have you all found that with programs such as emule and limewire that you get tons and tons of spy and adware??? I tried both programs and my computer got loads of junk on it. And do you all use programs such as Ad Aware or Spybot to rid your computers of these evil things, or just deal w/it????

I use adaware (go here and search for it http://www.download.com/ ) but eMule has nothing of the sort. It's a free open source project. If you download it from their site that is what you'll get and nothing more.

Over here it's not actually illegal to download music. It is however illegal to convert files without permission and/or share it with others. With eMule you have to let people download from you so really and truly, you're stuffed. But they're only going after users who share a large amount of files. The high bandwidth users. Even though the British version of the RIAA the BPI (I think that's them, to be honest I can't remember) said they had no problems with downloading music.

I won't bore you with my views on downloading music. I'll just end up going on and on about how I think most record companies are money hungry lying bastards.
