The first one isn't composed quite right: The top of the building cuts the picture in half. It leaves the eye searching for a place to rest..... You're heading in the right direction in the second one though.

Hm, I don't know if there is anything that can be done about it; if I put the building on the bottom third, I lose the curving line; put it on the top third and I lose the sky, and there wasn't anything interesting below the curving line anyway.

Glad you like #2. It turned out how I envisioned it, more or less.

I like the sky and the angle of the second one, but the image has too much dead space. The building is just too black and lacks detail.
