Looking for more pointers on this one.

On camera flash, harsh shadows, glare from flash on wall.Try moving the subject further from the background and maybe turn a light in in the room rather than using the harsh on camera flash.

i would really make a flash diffuser for the an camera flash.

its really harsh. on the roses, and the wall. and the shadow is overpowering

Not good, unless you have studio lighting to make the best of it

As it is,it doesn't work, but I think that you could have fun with this subject. Find a nice background for it. Place the flowers far enough from the background to avoid shadows. Large aperture to blur out the background. Shoot it in a vertical orientation to avoid wasted, empty space on either side. As for lighting, On camera flash provides a harsh glare and robs the actual subject of the shadows that make it look three dimensional, hence it looks "flat". Try placing it near a window to get some natural sidelight and your photo will look more dramatic.

Obviously, this post is just a restatement of what everyone has said above. I just wanted to tie it together.
