Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
My 70-200L fell out of my camera bag this weekend. It landed on the top of the lens and shattered the filter. I checked for proper operation and it focused at both ends of the focal length. Should I send this to canon? or is there other tests I can do to test the lens??

Thank you

Josh

Set the lens up on a tripod and turn IS off (if you have that version of the lens) and do some test shots. Shoot a subject at a decent distance at around a 45degree angle and check that both sharpness and focus at various focal lengths, is still ok. Further check (in good lighting with a subject that has clear changes in contrast for the AF to lock onto) that the AF functions accurately and at the speed it normally does.

All in all just give the lens a working through and ensure that its performing well - note that I can't stress enough to do these tests in good lighting. No point worrying yourself over normal lens performance in poorer lighting conditions.
