One of my favorite Action spots. this place has egret and heron fishing/diving action during the late winter early spring months. then late summer starts the osprey. eagle are also around year round, but always hit and miss. so I took the kayak out, it is still early here. I could have spent all day chasing them around I my kayak but we all know birds that can fly are no match for a kayak. I found a decent spot for next time to just sit and wait at.

all shot from my kayak with the d7100, it was mid-day harsh light, and I am sun burnt. haha

1) one of the 2 eagles that were sitting in this tree waiting on a fish, or on osprey with a fish.

2) Fish caught with its mouth open, must have been surprised to instantly be able to fly

4)Mature in flight,

6)wish I could have got a better shot of the osprey eagle chases, but this is not the kind of escorts you want if your an osprey

Super nice!!! Like your set up also. Very clean

Very Nice series Matt! Nice to see a post from you! Starting backwards, It's nice having a dual monitor set up huh? I just got an i1 x-rite display calibrator and it made a huge difference in getting matching monitors... #8 great angle bummer he flew in the other direction.. hate when that happens.. #6 yup, bad for an Osprey to have a couple of the big boys on his 10... It always seems to happen too far away... #2, it always looks like the fish is screaming, lol...

thanks both of you. I almost had the opportunity for another up close low angle osprey eating fish, so I slowly paddled up stream to the branch he was perched at with the fish about 3 feet off the water. but it was up stream so I couldn't just float slowly toward him, he did fly off. you guys may have remembered this photo. I was lucky enough to get of a younger one last year from my kayak with a 70-200mm and 1.4x converter. but yesterday I was not as lucky.

I am enjoying the dual monitors, but my the used quadro 4500 dual video card I bought came in broken, so its hooked up VGA and DVI, with onboard video, and surprisingly its not too bad. almost makes me think I might just keep it like this, obviously colors are not perfect and maybe impossible to get using VGA and DVI to match, but its not bad and less noise and case heat and works just fine.

Oh yeah, I remember that one!
I got one of these, it was on sale 2 weeks ago for $140.. X-Rite i1Display Pro EODIS3 B&H Photo Video
I have a really good asus 24" monitor and a crappy 23" acer monitor and after running the calibration, colors match up really well! I would highly recommend getting one if you see a sale!

nice shots as always

2 lcd-s is great for work, i'd be lost w/o them

Nice eagles and Osprey.Nice setup for editing.

Gorgeous. 3 and 6 are my favorite. Also love that you have an energy drink at your computer. (I live on those) :)

Thanks all. i just received the dell dual monitor stand, and that really cleaned up the look. $65 for a referbished name brand nice quality dual stand. my monitors are hp but have the versa 100 mount, and the dell stand came with the adapters.

Oh and just to say i found a new program for culling. if you have dual monitors and want an easy fast way to cull through your images before importing to lightroom or editing them in your favorite program try faststone image viewer. its freeware and has no ads, i am very supprised that a program this good was able to work so fast and do so many things and is free. if your using dual monitors and cull a lot of photos i highly recommend you try this program.

All are excellent! No surprise there. An inspiration to get off my butt and get out shooting.
